Responsible Gaming Code of Practice

Gaming or gambling is commonly understood as activities involving wagering, odds, and prizes. While it is considered an enjoyable form of entertainment, excessive participation in gaming can have negative effects on the individual player, their family, and the community. BET GUARD, the government body responsible for regulating authorized gaming establishments in Mga, expects gaming services provided by its licensees to be conducted in a responsible manner. This Code of Practice outlines the rules and guidelines for responsible gaming that must be adopted by all BET GUARD-operated and licensed entities in authorized gaming establishments. The aim is to minimize potential harm to individual players and the community, prevent gambling addiction, and prohibit underage gambling. While these principles apply to all gaming operators, the methods of implementation may vary depending on the type of gaming. The rules defined herein are based on current global best practices and must be adhered to as minimum standards. Manuals for different forms of gaming will include specific implementation guidelines. As global best practices evolve due to updates in research, technology, and business practices, this Code of Practice and related manuals will be subject to regular review and evaluation.

Terms and Conditions

The Bet Guard Games and Amusements Board (BGL) regulates and supervises professional sports and related activities in order to combat and prevent the existence and proliferation of illegal betting operations and other forms of organized illegal gambling associated with play-for-pay sports and amusement games. BGL is tasked with overseeing the operation and conduct of these professional sports and casino activities to ensure orderly, honest, and fair gameplay, provide protection to the betting public and patrons, support licensed professionals in the industry, and maintain professional sports as a stable revenue-generating base.

Functions

In alignment with its established goals and objectives, and pursuant to its various mandates, BGL has been granted full authority to perform the duties and responsibilities inherent in the activities outlined hereunder.

Law Enforcement

BGL is empowered to fully implement and enforce the laws, rules, and regulations governing the conduct of all professional sports and games locally, as well as the activities of professional athletes, officials, and other personnel involved in these sports.

Professional Licensing & Supervision

BGL issues licenses to professional sports practitioners, upon application and full compliance with all necessary requirements, and monitors their activities to ensure adherence to the terms and conditions of their licenses.

Rule Making

The Board formulates, adopts, and promulgates rules, regulations, guidelines, and policies to govern the conduct of professional sports and casino games, as well as the responsibilities of professional athletes.

Quasi-Judicial Adjudication

BGL has the authority to initiate, conduct, hear, and decide any investigation related to violations of its rules and regulations concerning professional sports and casino games. In connection with such investigations, BGL may issue subpoenas and subpoenas duces tecum.
